The DS1813 does everything that the MCP130 does, plus responds to the reset line being grounded, which it appears the MCP130 can't do. In other words, if you ground the /RESET output of the DS1813 it will go through the full reset sequence, same as what happens at power on. Hence you can hook up a push button to /RESET and you will get a clean reset no matter how much contact bounce occurs. The MC(130 doesn't appear to have that capability.

In general they are fairly similar, sans the reset time (150ms vs 350ms) and apparent lack of adding a reset switch. As I'm also looking at some other I/O devices which have a active high reset, I'm now looking at the TI TL7705A. It has both active high and low open collector outputs and is a bit more flexible but does require a few additional parts. It's also less expensive listed for $0.74 at Mouser.
