All about inductance: article and video by Bil Herd

Here's an article and video on inductance, which seems well worth linking, by Bil Herd (ex-Commodore and still an 8 bit fan)

A search for "inductance" on the forum gives a number of hits - Garth in particular mentions it in discussions of power supply routing and decoupling. So here are some links to possibly-related discussions:
Edit: see also
  • Jack Ganssle shows how edge times, rather than frequency, are important, and so fast parts can be a problem even in slow systems. Via Garth's post here.
(Overall, reference Garth's post here.)

I see three books are recommended too - the middle one being expensive or difficult to get hold of:
  • MECL System Design Handbook – Motorola
Noise Reduction Techniques in Electronic Systems – Henry Ott
High Speed Digital Design – Johnson & Graham
That last is one which Garth has mentioned.

I've actually read "High Speed Digital Design". It's one of the things that went missing during one of my moves. Very educational.

Unfortunately it's not even necessary to be cynic (anymore) to translate that to "we'll sell your email address to some spammer and somebody will forever be filling your inbox with junk". So I stopped when I reached that point - something I should have done much more of in the past, looking at what happened to my inbox afterwards.

I just tested the form with my usual bogus answers, and it will let you continue to the download once filled.
Just type anything in the fields, and use zuck@fb.com as the email address.

Dr. Howard Johnson's articles which used to be free online can be found free again, archived, at https://web.archive.org/web/20120302190 ... eyword.htm . (This comes, finally, from Ed's occasional nudging to learn to use the WayBack Machine. :D ) I tried to edit all my posts' Dr. Howard Johnson article links with the archive URL correction. Hopefully I got them all.
http://WilsonMinesCo.com/ lots of 6502 resources
The "second front page" is http://wilsonminesco.com/links.html .
What's an additional VIA among friends, anyhow?
