Re: bug65: cc65 simulator + debugger for Visual Studio Code

Membership is not free at Codeberg. I think I understand why, but I’m not willing to pay someone else to host my work.
Not free in what sense? I don't pay anything for my account.
When I visited their sign-up page, it mentioned a 24 euro fee and asked me how I wanted to pay it. I didn’t see a ...

Re: VHDL on 6502?

VHDL is a Hardware Description Language. I can see using VHDL to create logic hardware. i.e. 6502 itself or some other digital logic. But using VHDL seems like a lot of work to run on the 6502 and would run slow if there was a 6502 VHDL simulator. It would be fun and challenging I suppose.

Re: Startup of my old AppleII computer ...

At minimum replace the RIFA cap in the power supply. It will blow and make alot of burnt butter smell as well as smoke. I pulled my dads AII plus from his garage rafters and used for a few days and then walk back out in the garage where I had it my house. Luckly it was in the garage and not in the ...

I'm surprised that you haven't done any test boards for all the Dragon Ball CPUs you have yet.

It is interesting that many 6502 projects are working toward video/keyboard solutions. It is fun to see so many diverse solutions presented here. I also have a 6502 video/keyboard project under the ...

Re: Other forums for other platforms

You can go to retro-comp on Google groups. https://groups.google.com/g/retro-comp It has a RC2014 / RCBUS slant but everything is open for discussion on retro and more. 6502/Z80/68K/68xx any CPU really etc. It has been around for about 5 years or so. Bill (plasmo), Allan Cox (Etched Pixels), Wayne ...

Sacramento, CA - ~111F peak around ~110F now. Ignore Fermenter temp. It is the shed now.
Fermenter? Whatcha got brewing in it? :D

My poor ITX weather PC is in the shed taking a beating. It made wiring up the sensors easy.

I have Fireball Whiskey in the fermenter. :) naw When I was brewing the ...

Re: ATF150x PLCC end of life for certain formats

2024 is the year of the CPLD axing. AMD (Xilinx) announced earlier this year the discontinuance of the whole CPLD portfolio. This month is the LTB Last Time Buy deadline for AMD. I had to find a replacement for the XC9500XL parts for about 10 boards from 9572 to 95288. Looks like Lattice LC4000Vs ...

Re: A Futile Exercise: C Roguelike in <4Kb

I'm looking to see if I can optimize anything for size even more, given this code. I'm honestly kind of stuck at this point.

I'm using the -Cl -Osir cc65 command line options for the Synertek Sym-1.

Does anyone have some pointers/ideas?
My experience on the subject is only distantly related, but ...

I have watched a few of his videos related to this project in the past but I took another look after his posting. His project and the Olimex Neo6502 project concept looks interesting. I ended staying up late and binge watched the whole series. Fascinating. Nice presentation.

Re: 65SPI confusion

Yep, A lot of SS lines are just output ports on many SPI controllers. The programmer keeps them de-asserted until needed for transfers. I'm currently using a Microchip (Actel lineage) Igloo2 FPGA at work and the internal SPI controller is a hard block device connected to an AHB bus. The SS logic is ...

Re: Current CPLD's using Linux? Yep!

It appears that you want to use Xilinx ISE on Linux and say it won't work on Windows but Xilinx ISE 14.7 does run on Windows because I use it on Windows and program CPLDs just fine with the USB Platform Cable. ISE launches "Imact" to to talk to the programmer. "Impact" can be ran ran stand alone if ...
