It's only 9 hours... that's not very far.
We drove over 12 hours to VCF Midwest just 2 weeks ago. One friend flew in from the UK just to see the show.
And took a multi-day road trip out to VCF Southwest back in '23.
That doesn't even cover the coast-to-coast flights for VCF West I've done a couple ...

Re: VCFe - Vintage Computer Festival Europe on 3./4. Mai 202
While there won't be one in Berlin, seems there will be one in Switzerland. Might be an option for some of you who were considering VCF Berlin this year.

Re: Ongoing Problem with Bots / Reading Forum when Not Logge
Seems that all of the small vintage computer community forums I frequent are feeling the pressure of the scraping bots lately. I know my own website's traffic records have been inundated with bots rotating their user agent strings to mask their scraping operations. It makes it more difficult to pay ...

Re: VCFe - Vintage Computer Festival Europe on 3./4. Mai 202
Thank you, ArnoldLayne. That one link lead me to about a dozen galleries of VCF Europa and Berlin that I didn't have listed. Much appreciated!

Re: VCFe - Vintage Computer Festival Europe on 3./4. Mai 202
Does anyone have any links to photo galleries from VCF Europa 2025? I'm compiling a directory of galleries, this is the first time I've encountered anyone who went to that show recently, figured it was worth asking.

Re: 6502 Front Panels
The one I know of is called the PERSEUS-8, as seen here:

The guy later added a second module to it refereed to as the PERSEUS-9:

6502 Front Panels
In the same vein as the Altair 8800 or Nova 1200 or other minis/micros have front panels, which historic (about 40 years or older) 6502-based machines contain front panels of that type? I'm not talking about the type of keypad designs seen on the KIM-1, or SYM-1, or the more advanced designs like ...

Re: The Cactus, A Starting Point
I do believe I see an OSI300 remake on the table too...
Yes, I love my mini OSI-300. I've found it to be not only an inspiration, but also a good counterpoint to the significantly more complicated interface of the Cactus.

Re: The Cactus, A Starting Point
It's been awhile, here's the latest in the Cactus updates. You'll forgive me if I copy my text from elsewhere, as I've typed this up like... 6 times by now.

Re: The Cactus, A Starting Point
So I've made a few tweaks to the 6522 board. I've added a second set of headers, and made a little LED test connector. Next I've got to try my hand at using it for inputs.

I've made a bit of progress here and there...
IMG_20180713_235132895.jpg
I decided it was time I took a crack at adding a VIA into the mix. Specifically, a 65C22 (although I do have some NMOS ones on hand too). I figured it would be easiest to start simple, and wire up just wire up Port A. I threw ...

Re: The Cactus, A Starting Point
65c52! That's right, thank you. I will keep an eye out for one in my travels. The typo on the 6551 has been fixed now... that's going to be the one I focus on.
