Thanks for the update Hans. I believe Acorn's Atom was also popular in NL - is that so? Do you have any materials on that?

Cheers
Ed

Edit: I think the original post would have been to this page:
Quote:
Elektuur/Elektor and the Junior Computer and other 6502 based machines.
The Junior computer design was published by Elektuur/Elektor from 1980 on. It was published in a series of magazine articles, four books and several socalled paperware A4 booklets.

which has much information within.

Thank you, Hans.

I've spent many hours in that fascinating section of the old web site and I look forward to checking out the new format.

Cheerful regards, Mike

I don't have too much interest in the old machines of which Hans speaks, but I must compliment you on your site, which is a good read no matter what.

Greetings Hans,

The new and updated information looks great in the new format. I'm sure it represents a tremendous amount of work and time. Thank you!

If it helps, I came across a copy of the schematic for the Elektuur Junior which is much nicer than the schematic found in the scanned Book 1 PDF file.

Cheerful regards, Mike

(Oddly, I can't reach the site with my normal config because Google's nameservers at 8.8.8.8 can't resolve it. My ISP's own nameservers can.)

I have the same problem.. although it did work with Google's nameserver a few hours ago, intermittently. Not now.

I use 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3 for the nameservers around here. Google's servers can sometimes lead you down a dirt road.

I've been looking at Hans Otten's pages and Ruud Baltissen's pages, as well as Patrick Zoete's "Kim-Kenner" magazine archives, and I've been doing a little project with my MicroKim (https://hackaday.io/project/4418).

Seeing that Junior schematic again after working with the MicroKim for a while made me realize that the Junior and MicroKim schematics are actually more similar to each other than the Junior and the KIM-1 or the MicroKim and the KIM-1: After all, both Junior and MicroKim have one 6532 instead of the KIM-1's two 6530's.

Of course the MicroKim has the inverter on A4 to the 6532 and the extra logic around IO2/IO3 to emulate the KIM-1 memory map, and the Junior has the common-cathode displays to reduce parts count.

Makes me wonder how hard it would be to turn a MicroKim into a Junior. Not much, I think...

That's quite an assortment you have. Surprised there were no 8502s, 8563s or 8568s.
