Sounds like you don't have any Japanese enabled fonts installed on your system; though I thought most major operating systems have them installed by default these days.

Nora, please don't post in Japanese! It's much better for one person to translate to English than to have many people trying to do it. Also, if you do the translation, you can translate back into Japanese and check that the translation is good.

So, you want to make something, but you don't know what it is? Where did the idea to make a 6502 system come from? Is this a school project?

You’re correct.  I only have Western fonts installed, as the only languages I know are English and Spanish—and my Spanish is pretty weak from lack of use.

Well, actually I speak Japanese a lot better than I can read it. The last time I did reading/writing properly was 35 (wah!) years ago.

Language skill is definitely a perishable commodity.

Up until the mid-1980s, I was in work situations where I had not-infrequent opportunities to converse in Spanish and, in fact, translated a technical manual for a locomotive traction control system into Spanish (with some help from a Mexican co-worker who knew the Spanish equivalents for some technical terms, such as “wheelslip” and “flashover”).  I look back at it those days now and wonder how the heck I did it.  It’s been decades since I’ve known anyone fluent in Spanish.  These days, I have to think it through before I can do something as simple as ask someone for the time-of-day.

Really weirdly, I get into situations where I can think of the Japanese to say but am stumped what to say in English. Yesterday I was returning to my van from a site visit and saw a traffic warden making out a parking ticket. I sped up to a brisk trot and called out.... akh!... err.. what should I call out...? I have something vaguely opposite: I don't know the word I want in German, but know I shouldn't use English, so will pick a word from any of the other languages I (barely) know. I'm sure all my German neighbours think I'm an idiot

The oddest thing is that my first practical exposure to German was in Austria, thirty years ago, and I still find the Austrian or Bavarian, accents easier to understand than the Berlin accent they speak around here... Though I am told I speak German with a Dutch accent... go figure!

How in Sam Hill can a lad from Merry Old England speaking the Kaiser’s tongue sound like a Dutchman?    Of course, years ago, my aforementioned Mexican co-worker did say that I spoke Spanish with a distinct south side Chicago accent.  Not a surprise, since I was born, and lived for a time, on the south side of Chicago—back before there was bad, bad Leroy Brown.

Probably the same way my Aunt - a Yorkshire born and bred lass who moved to Window Rock AZ via Pocatello Idaho and Flagstaff, who married a Navajo - speaks the weirdest mix of Arizona-Yorkshire cross...
