Re: DOS/65
You are correct. There are things that could be accomplished along this line just by modifying CCM but full implementation would require changes in both the individual applications as well as possibily the Primitive Execution Module (PEM). Adding the code to parse an entry such as "B6:" versus ...

Re: DOS/65
Some interesting alternatives. I have not heard back from Mike yet. I think that input will be key.
The comments about user areas are spot on. Right now user areas are handled the same as in the basic CP/M 2.2. That is to say they are handled very simply and crudely.

Re: DOS/65
What is on Peter's site is mostly associated with the C64 release. Since his site is focused on processors other than the 6502 maintaining that as the primary site does not make much sense to me. I woould rather his site point to 6502.org.
The information is more closely aligned with 6502.org ...

DOS/65
I am Rich Leary, the developer of DOS/65. I started developing DOS/65 about 35 years ago and have off and on as the years have past made improvements and upgrades to the product. Within the past two years some fairly significant developments have been made but that news has only been distributed to ...

SBC3 Keyboard
Stated a new topic so we can better track investigation of PS2 keyboard interfacing with the SBC3.
Testing so far has been limited but a little surprising and confusing.
I tested the HP keyboard and it worked. I was surprised because like the Microsoft keyboards it has a bunch of extra functions ...

Heat Sink
Daryl,
You are absolutely correct and I should have made it clear I was talking about the voltage regulator heat sink.

Heat Sink
All,
One tip I meant to post when I first finished by SBC3 was one regarding the heatsink. I mounted mine so the fins were on the outside of the board. That eliminated any conflict with the caps and might actually improve cooling air flow.
That does restrict mounting but since the power plug ...

Keyboard
Daryl,
I have noticed something strange with keyboards. I have four PS2 keyboards including two brand new Microsoft 500 keyboards. The Microsoft keyboards do not work withy the SBC3. The NUM LOCK light does not come on and there is no response to any key.

Up!
I finished my SBC-3.1 and it is working. I still need to test the XMODEM transfers but I suspect that will not be a problem.
So far only used a monochrome monitor. Will try a color one soon.

Started Assembly
Daryl & the Group,
I finally got up my courage to start assembly following the guidelines, especially the SMT advice. I must admit that this was my first real attempt at SMT soldering.
The guidelines are great. I used a ton of flux, a very small chisel point on my iron, and small diameter solder ...

C30
Daryl,
I finally started to order my SBC-3 parts. I am confused on C30. The parts list shows it as a 10-30 pF variable but then gives a Digi-Key number equivalent to the 0.1uF cap.
What is the correct part?
Rich
