Re: aim-65 floppy disk control

It was mentioned in an earlier post that a HD was out of the question. This is not true if the HD is a ATA IDE interface. The disk reads/writes a sector and puts it in a buffer for one to read/write at any rate one wants.
I like the idea of using an SD card though. If done right, data can be ...

Re: aim 65 1541 interface

Hi guys, I just found my ah5050 board and schematic that interfaced to the AIM65 and used the 1541 disk drive ...any interest in communicating?

Re: W65C134 Prototype

I've been to their site but didn't find it - probably in one of the download packages. I'm sure Andrew knows and will share. You're right about loading code to RAM. The on-board RAM is only 192 bytes I think and changing to the external bus would allow the execution of any program loaded there. The ...

Re: W65C134 Prototype

Hi Martin, I'm not certain their monitor contains the code to program the EEPROM. I think Andrew meant it could self-program itself so he needed to be careful by adding a jumper to prevent that but I'm not sure. The use of a nvSRAM or FerroMagSRAM allows for R/W within the device by memory location ...

Re: W65C134 Prototype

Thanks for the quick reply. My purpose for using the F-SRAM x 16 would be to bring the 65C134 up in a preliminary mode to set up the hardware decoding, language loading and then switch to the other 8 bits to run it in one of 4 emulation modes...specifically, AIM/SYM/KIM & custom memory maps. I'm not ...

Re: W65C134 Prototype

I am also interested in this device from WDC but I'm thinking of putting a 64KBx16 Ferromagnetic SRAM or nvSRAM as the memory components. Are you using a 3V power rail? Are you using their SIB for the USB? I see a 4 pin plug in the upper left of the Proto Board. Also, it looks like you aren't using ...

Re: Retro SYM

Great job! I'm interested in that SD interface for the AIM-65. Glad you got a 6532...did you get it from China? Also, legally IMHO, you designed this so you own it...if you're worried about an infringement suit. On the other hand, disclaim "for your own use only" but put a copyright symbol on it via ...

Are the WDC W65C22 chips drop-in replacements for the 6522 chips required by this board?

Re: Extended AIM65 Monitor supporting 65C02

Hi, the AIM-65 monitor is in manual form and I also have a copy of the AIM-65/40 monitor manual, not the ROM images though! If I remember correctly, the 2 ROM set for the AIM-65 was split so that one ROM contained basic code and the E ROM contained all the subroutines - at least that's how I like to ...

Re: AIM 65 Display

I have a bunch of those displays. We use to built the Aim into a product we produced. I wish I still had an Aim. All I have now is some Toshiba cmos static rams we substituted to drop the power consumption down. May have the old Fourth compiler too.

Let me know if you still need a display

Do you ...

Re: AIM-65 Display

late post but did you get your dl1416? dave

I have an AIM-65 I'm trying to restore. One of the 4 character displays is not working. I've switched it around and am sure it's the display module that's bad. It's a DL1416A, according to the schematics. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement ...
