Re: What happened to Briel Computers?

This is a technical forum, so technical & meticulous correctness is somewhat on-topic. ;) The exact form of the quote causes problems, and is apt to the situation of hobby expenses & profit, so I think it's worth people noting the broader authoritative consensus, which is "the love of money is a ...

That's also a misquote(but less of one). :) It's "The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." Quite different to "all evil," if you ask me.

Re: What happened to Briel Computers?

Money is not the root of all evil. This is a common misquote.

The love of money is the root of all evil.

Right, but, nobody has any money for things they don't need anymore.

Re: What happened to Briel Computers?

Probably none of us that wanted to buy their products could afford them. So the business wasn't viable. It's unfortunately just the way the times are.

Re: Enough..

Still, those offensive posts had been on the forum at least four hours when I noticed them. I don't know when they were deleted, but someone (from Europe, I presume) had already reported them when I logged on.
I firmly believe that only having US-located moderators aren't good enough, not anymore ...

Re: Enough..

And I'm guessing that I'm awake (albeit not constantly reloading and reading this site) during those three hours. :)

I'll be hitting the sack in about 7 hours, and waking in about 11.

Re: Enough..

I don't know much about modern browsers, (and I won't be surprised if a more-than-a-decade-old Amiga browser would be more sophisticated than a modern one on any other OS), but IBrowse has site-specific preferences, and a "Show Images" command button in the GUI. I bring this up because maybe someone ...

Re: DANI-I 6502 Microcomputer

Precisely why I think (my opinion only) that the 65CE02 better fits the "65C02 on steroids" description than the 65816.

Re: Ready made project computer

They have a number of high current relays inside. Depending on the model, they have one, two, or four.

In my experience, if it looks like that one in the picture, metal box, 6 digit LED plus the row of LEDs and the big keypad, then it has a 6502 inside. It seems like they used that design for ...

I think the 65CE02 better fits that description. :)

(corrected, thanks Garth)

A seemingly good source for these are the A2232 7-port RS232 cards. They also have a ton of other useful chips. But you have to be willing to cannibalise them, and, for all I know they aren't cheap and plentiful anymore.

Re: Ready made project computer

I don't remember what kind of ROM is in there, but it may be pretty sizable. The operation is pretty sophisticated, and they have extensive astronomical and chronological data. Basically they have the capability to turn lights and sprinklers on and off based on sunrise, sunset, and holidays, if ...

Ready made project computer

I recently thought about building another purpose-specific 6502 SBC.

I'd like to have a sizeable keypad and a simple alphanumeric display. Those parts I'd have to buy. At least the keypad, I may have a display I could use.

I thought about these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231598548744
