Cheap 65c816 compiler
I've tried to get LCC to work on barebones 65265 mcu but the task is next to impossible, thanks to wings deps.
However, on random surfing I found http://store.syndicomm.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=62 which will run on http://kegs.sf.net apple IIgs emulator with apple abandonware ...

GNU tools for our cpus
Hi all.
I noticed a while back site www.gnuxtools.com which provides $$$ compiled gnu assebler for 65xx/65xxx cpus.
From that info I went and picked up the binutils, gdb and gcc latest packages from ftp.gnu.org and though if I'd get lucky. Result was: binutils compiled and seems to provide correct ...

Hi.
You can't drive that many chips without buffering.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~ganswijk/chipdir/f/buffer.htm 74 series chips should be more or less suitable, pick one that fits best to your needs.
Good luck on the project.

Hmm..
The whole fuzz is to avoid software refresh since 6502/816 really doesn't have spare cycles to waste imo.
The board is going to be just simple sbc without video for a starter (6502 or '816, pia/via, acia and some glue and the usual junk to put all together).
I/we have though about simple phi2 ...

DRAM/SIMM refresh circuit
I ve been trying to get some info how to get a simple dram refresh to 1 or 4 MB simm.
Google web nor groups didn't offer any usable info except getting some fpga coding and I'm not really up to that.
So, anyone made dram refresh circuity or have links to easy/cheap way to do that with commodity ttl ...

About West Design Center
A bit old topic but...
WDC sells their compiler/linker but cc65 (www.cc65.org) does the trick for free.
There might be others too but that's the one I've been watching out if/when I get some '816's at reasonable price (around 30 eur/piece here
