Gentlemen:
Forum member Marco Demont, aka Lord Bubsy, is again in the hospital due to pulmonary problems. He had undergone a lung transplant about four years ago and now his other lung has to be removed, surgery for which was scheduled for today (Thursday February 20). My understanding is he is not a candidate for another transplant at this time, so what will follow this most recent surgery is unclear.
As is the case with all transplant patients, he is on an anti-rejection regimen, which puts him at a not-inconsiderable risk of developing a life-threatening, post-surgical infection. Kidney issues due to nephrotoxicity are another ever-present danger So there is some cause for concern.
I will update as I learn more. If anyone wants to send Marco a get-well card via postal mail, please PM me and I'll give you his address.

I can happily say that the surgery went well. My left lung is completely removed, including the fungus which caused the life-threatening situation.
I'm getting a lot of painkillers and after treatment drugs etc.
Recovery could take a few months though.
Greetings Marco

I’d like to thank those who have written (here and by post). I’m a few weeks at home now and I’m recovering well. Getting off of the painkillers is probably the most difficult at the moment.
I’m busy with old and new projects, all 6502 and AVR related.
Of course I wish that everyone stays well or get well if anyone got infected!

Nice to see someone recovering. Stick to your 6502s and stay as isolated as you can.
Had a real scare myself recently. Woke up with a cough and fever. Testing cleared me of the larger lurgy in favor of the flu - but now this makes me a candidate with an underlying existing condition.
Good thing the flu only lasts a week or two.
