Could use some help from Apple owner.
I "inherited" of a Scsi RAMFAST card taken out of a dead (flooded !!) IIGS.
When i "boot" the card by the magic ' PR#x' invocation on my IIE,it goes
limbo. The card works on a "sane" GS,of course.
RAMFAST does not exist anymore,i did however find some indications on
the Web that let me think there were different ROMs for different Apple's.
(6502 versus 65816,maybe).
Could some knowlegeable person tell me :
- if my analysis is correct
- where to find a Rom for my Apple IIe
- eventually provide me with a binary image of that ROM (if it does not
infringe someone's rights,of course).
Isn't the Apple II the ultimate in 6502 Sbc's ????
Have fun.
René.

try www.Apple2.org see if Tony can be of any help there...
"My biggest dream in life? Building black plywood Habitrails"
There are actually different roms in just about all Apple // series, Features added, undocumented stuff removed, etc. The ROM's in the gs have a lot more in them then the roms for the rest of the // series (gotta remember, the gs actually did have a graphical interface OS (GSOS) ) - now I'm not sure, although I have a bunch of the ramfast scsi cards, but I think the ramfast scsi was a gs only card - you will probably have to verify that with Tony at the website posted in the note above.
The other thing to take into consideration is that there are many different versions of the RAMFAST scsi controller, and the one you have may not work on a //e, where is a different one may. Just a thought. I know I have a manual somewhere for the darn things, but couldn't lay my hands on it to save my life.

Back home.......
Thanks for the replies.
In fact ,it appears that i did shoot myself in the foot on this one :it was written "Apple IIe Enhanced" all over the place but the mother board had been "replaced" by a "normal" IIe one(6502).
I should have checked the boot prompt ........
After upgrading the board (65c02 + roms),the card works ok.But it is a V2.01C level,so i'm still looking for a V3.01F rom image.
Any taker ???
Thanks again,René.
