I contacted Brad, and he said he's been tinkering with the .htaccess rules and perhaps broke something, and that it might be a day or two before he can get to it.

I have FireFox on Linux and I am in Czech Republic (Europe) and it works for me. Just observation. Who know which combination of factors trigger it.

Hi all. Garth looped me in on this. I've looked at the last 24 hours of the server log, and see several successful requests for the file and no error responses. (I assume the errors are being reported as either 403 Forbidden or 404 Not Found.) I'll keep investigating. Fortunately this is a simple request for an HTML file, which is much simpler to debug than a wayward PHP script. If you encounter the error again, please make a note of the time and date.

More news when I have it. Perhaps this should be split into a separate topic here?

Yes a new topic for any problems accessing any website would always be a good idea!

Well, I'm baffled. I've reviewed the .htaccess files, and don't see anything wrong with them. More significant is the fact that those files haven't been changed since 2016, so what is causing errors now? It is possible that the web host has upgraded something (PHP, Apache, etc.) that doesn't play well with older scripts.

It's working for me at the moment.  It definitely did not earlier.

Yeah, now I'm good too. Maybe it was some kind of inexplicable "left coast" http://www.leg.cramp.thing. Still no other place I'd rather be. 8)
(I'm Edge on 10, and I'm certain Garth isn't, soooo, that wasn't it ...)
