Thought it might be of interest, although it's not very strongly 6502... there's a small outfit in the UK currently touring schools and village halls, with a stack of BBC Micros and some Raspberry Pis too, I think. They use BBC Basic to teach various bits and bobs and engage the kids. (It's not about teaching programming as such, but the possibility of programming, I think... although they do refer to "coding workshops.")

There are a couple of short videos on that page, and there's a gallery of photos here. See perhaps this album as typical.

(Anyone shown in the video or photo has signed a release form, and all the practitioners have had a UK safety check for working with children.)

IMHO ancient computers had more spirit than modern ones. Children can feel this.
