Hi all, I wanted to decorate my room with some 6502-themed artwork, and I found this print from an art website called Fine Art America:

https://fineartamerica.com/featured/mos ... emery.html

I was curious about which part of the 6502 die was this taken from.
After a quick search on Visual 6502 I can say it's in the bottom right corner, near the DBx pins, rotated 90 degrees and with some color effects applied.

I wonder what are these four "things" at the center. Is it a single power transistor? Four transistors combined together?
What's its role? Maybe to drive the output data pin?
And what about the surrounding electronics?

Thanks for any hints :)
Enrico

My guess is that those are the 4 medium sized transistors driving the two gates of the big output driver transistors.

Confirmed: it's around the I/O pad driver for bit three of the databus. But not in our usual orientation:

From the visual6502 images here:

The schematic you attached seems part of a bigger image, where could I find it?

It's from the Balazs' schematic

Hi Enrico,
some time ago I vectorized the 8501 (which is a 6502 + some additional logic) and made a print on brushed alloy:

Maybe you'll find that one interesting.
