Vintage Computer Festival East 2020 - 6502 theme

Post by arkaxow »

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to let all of you know about our upcoming show on April 24, 25 & 26. We will be having Bill Mensch come to do a technical class on the 6502 on April 24 with Bil Herd. Bill Mensch will also do his historical keynote speech on April 25 talking about the story of the 6502's creation. If you don't know Bill Mensch, he was on the original design team for the 6502 and founder of Western Design Center. Bil Herd was the primary hardware designer of the Commodore 128.
The theme of our show this year is the 6502 microprocessor, so we encouraged the 30 to 40 exhibitors on Saturday and Sunday to something related to that them. On Friday we have technical classes with various topics. Our Sunday keynote is Michael Tomczyk who successfully marketed the Vic-20. Other notable attendees are David Murry (The 8-Bit Guy) who is working on Commander X16, Ben Eater (6502 Computer Kit), Stefany Allaire (C256 Foenix), and Eric Schlaepfer (Monster 6502). We are working on getting other "modern 6502" hardware & software developers to attend such as those on this list: https://wdc65xx.com/third-party-products/

The show is in Wall, NJ, USA.
Our main website is: http://vcfed.org/
Our show website is: http://vcfed.org/wp/festivals/vintage-c ... ival-east/

I hope many of you are able to attend. It will be a fun show!
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the notice! (I'm a very long way away, so it's out of scope for me, but hopefully you will reach new attendees by posting here.)

I would like to go as I'm originally from the Philadelphia area. Sounds like a great opportunity to see some neat stuff!

I'm near the Philadelphia Expo center and am interested in a ride share to get to the show on Friday for the talks, I've been many times but never was able to get there in time for the workshops or talks.

It's not out of the question... My priority is to get a hotel Thursday night, visit Drexel & UPenn Friday, in Philadelpia with a friend who might be attending and be present for the keynote speakers on Saturday & Sunday mornings. Then check out of the hotel Sunday afternoon. The hotel I'm currently looking at is the Belmar Motor Lodge. So I could conceivably pick you up Thursday and drive you back Sunday, but in the interim while at the show you would have to find a way to and from the hotel. You'd be welcome to tag along for the trip to Philly on Friday if you'd like.
