New 6502 Documents and Website

Post by JEN WINOGRAD »

Last year I visited this page to report that I had recently discovered a forgotten cache of MOS Technology/6502 documents in my father's garage (including MOS Technology brochures, inter-office memos, notes from brainstorming sessions, testing procedures, technical reports, a 50-step production process, test results, and much more). My father, Terry Holdt, was the Product/Program Manager for Microcomputers & 6502 Process Development Manager for MOS Technology during the creation of the 6502. In fact, he was one of the team of eight Motorola employees who quit their jobs to pursue a dream at MOS Technology: to make the world's first affordable microprocessor.

Since my last posting, I have been busy not only creating the website to release my dad's documents, but tracking down other MOS Technology employees who also worked on the 6502 to ask them to share their memories and any archival documents in their possession as well. Those stories and documents are now available for viewing at http://www.team6502.org/. You can also follow Team 6502 on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/team6502/ and Twitter: https://twitter.com/team6502 where I will be announcing the drop of additional documents in the coming year.

Immediately followed and bookmarked. However, seems to be down at the moment.

Thanks for doing this!

Absolutely terrific! It's common to see the history of technology, but much rarer to have a great site like this dedicated to the people behind it.

Many thanks for publishing this material,
for a year I was worried that it might have been gone into /dev/null.
