In the "where to start" department, I refer you to Garth's
6502 PRIMER: Building your own 6502 computer. There's a wealth of information there, tailored to the needs of people like you. And folks on the forum are often willing to offer specific advice, within reason. Just try to avoid asking questions which are already answered in the Primer!
(Asking for clarification is OK, though.)
Depending on your level of experience, video may well be something you should save for phase two of your project. It's an important question, regarding which I suggest you read the advice recently given to
this would-be builder.
