Can anybody recomend a supplier of WDC devices in the UK please?

Thanks for the contact - I've just placed an order with them.

Soon I will have a 65C816 and can find out what this 16 bit stuff all you guys go on about is really like :D :D

Download WDC's programming book from their website at http://www.westerndesigncenter.com/wdc/ ... manual.pdf . The '816 is about a lot more than just 16-bit registers. It adds a lot of instructions and addressing modes, making various jobs a lot easier.

If you NEVER use 16-bit instructions, then the following analogy holds:

* 6502 : 65816 :: 6800 : 6809

If you DO use 16-bit software, then:

* 6502 : 65816 :: 6800 : TMS9900

;)

That pretty much sums it up.
