I got some years ago a PET 2001 and some other PET follower, for my own private collection, my prb is that in the 2001 is not the original rom inside. there is a eprom inside, and the data inside is allready lost.

Im searching now since years for somebody who has a copy of the original rom, i need to make a new eprom to get the machine working again. thx

It is realy a prob to get that, i need a person who has a runing one, if there is no other way, i would prg a programm what makes a image on tape. and than i export it with a old pentium pc with a datasette connected to it.

I saw this on that page:
"Original PET 2001 C000-C7FF ROM. This is the first ROM of a bigger set. The files matching the pattern *901439* will form the complete set."
and presumed that these are indeed for 2001 machine - is that not so?

The "Original ROM" may or may not be what he wants. Frankly, if he doesn't know which he wants, he wants the "BASIC 4.0" ROM set.

I have a working 2001N, with BASIC 4.0 ROM, but, don't have the means to pull the ROM out of it at the momen. I'd have to write it to a disk, and read the disk with my Amiga. This unfortunately is not trivial for me at this time.

But someone somewhere has the ROM code in a file already, or we wouldn't have products like PETVET.

I can't look at the moment, but I think VICE comes with the ROM you need.
