R65NC02 datasheet?

Post by Riba »

Hi, I pulled a few R65NC02P3 chips from ancient terminals. Would anyone happen to have a datasheet for R65NC02P3? (google came up empty)

Hey, I'm not that blind :-D
I was looking specifically the R65NC02 manuals, not R6502.

I think you'll be pretty safe using any of the non-WDC 65c02 data sheets, but in addition to the regular non-WDC 65c02 instructions and addressing modes, add the BBR, BBS, RMB, and SMB instructions you'll find in Appendix C, pages 18-22 of the excellent programming manual that you can download from WDC's website, from the lower right corner of their home page.

Unfortunately, it looks like this manual they made available online is not the latest revision, because their 65c02 does have these instructions (whereas their manual says only the Rockwell part does), and their 65c02 also has the WAIt instruction (whereas their manual says only the 65816 has it). This may be true of more instructions too that I just haven't thought of to check yet. The pinouts in this programming manual also show their 65c02 without the newer VP\ (vector pull) and BE (bus enable) pins that the WDC 65c02 has.

You did have the N in the part number in your original question. I don't know what that might mean, but I remember years ago combing through the 65C22 and 65NC22 data sheets, looking for any difference. I'm not sure I did find where the differences were until years later when someone (maybe Wally Daniels?) sent me a sheet detailing the diferences. The NC22 had a minor difference that made it somehow easier to use with the 68020, and its Port B pins only had passive pull-ups instead of active. I can't think of any way these characteristics would transfer to a 65NC02 however.
