I am trying to learn Apple II Assembler and I found some great general guides online but I need examples of how to implement file io and implement graphics on the screen.

I think the screen address starts at $0400 for text but I couldn't find anything on file io.

I setup wudns's pacakaged for developing the code and I have the hello world working but I would love to jumpstart things with good reference guides geared for apple II.

I am an experienced programmer but 6502 assembler is something I haven't touched in a long time.

Bob Sander-Cederlof is an Apple assembly language expert, and much of his work can be found in this online archive. If you haven't already seen it, you're in for a treat ... the guy is a treasure-trove of information.

Plug his name into your favorite search engine for even more ... he was quite prolific.

I've also found the folks at comp.sys.apple2 to be generally quite friendly and well-informed. Give 'em a try!

Mike

Welcome wrmichael! If you like, please post something on the Introduce Yourself thread.

Here's a direct link to the Apple Assembly Line archive on Bob S-C's site: http://www.txbobsc.com/aal/

Cheers
Ed
