Paging Brian Phelps... Joe Vitek here...

Post by rfpowerdude »

Trying to find my good buddy Brian Phelps since he and I have lost contact over the years. I figure he is hanging out in this forum somewheres...

Brian, you in here? I have an old EPROM programmer you might be interested in. It is a BP Microsystems unit... :D
Funny that it has your initials and was what reminded me that we have lost touch...

Also, when you eventually log in here, I have to ask... Do you still have all those Nixie tubes I gave you like 28 years ago? :D

We should do something with those Nixies and your 6502 stuff!

I know I'm talking to myself in here, I hope the forum owner doesn't mind. I'm just reminiscing about growing up in electronics and reading all the posts on here reminds me of those times...

Brian is around: he posted at viewtopic.php?p=28437#p28437 so you might want to PM him.

Cheers

Thanks Ed, I PM'ed him a few days ago when I found his posts here. He hasn't logged onto the site since September. Realistically, I could snail mail him and his significant other (she and I graduated the same year) with a letter and it would probably get to him faster. I guess nowadays, the instant gratification of the 'net causes some to forget about this age old way of communication. I will probably just do that today.

One nice thing though, trolling through posts here has really brought back some memories!

EDIT: Just checked my PMs. Thanks Ed! Forgot that I should look at an archived snapshot of the web. I will try that email. If it bounces from both, I will send that letter...

Yes, BigEd, thanks for the suggestion. It's funny though, it turns out that I had Brian's number on an old handwritten phone list that was in my office in a box of old stuff from when I moved back over to east coast of Florida a coupla years ago. I had his phone number the whole time. LOL When I saw it yesterday (after trying to clean my office), I did the ole facepalm thing and dialed his number immediately. Yep, Brian was home and surprised to hear from me... :D
