To all,

I've successfully connected a PC AT keyboard to my SBC via the

6526 CIA and am recieving proper key scan codes.

Has anyone else already done this? Is there source code available for the scancode to ASCII conversion?

I can do it myself but would not want to "re-invent the wheel" if its already been done. If I write it, I'll be sure to submit it to the source code repository at www.6502.org :)

Thanks!

Daryl

Thanks!

I guess since I was just looking for the software, I forgot to check out the hardware pages of "6502.org" That project will be a good start for me.

Daryl,

If you finish your project and you are successful, please consider donating it to the Hardware Mini-Projects archive. There are often many ways of doing things and it would be nice to present visitors with different options.

I'm always actively soliciting contributions for the mini-projects archive and source code repository. Anyone with a neat project is welcome and encouraged to submit material for publication on the site.

Regards,
Mike

Any questions just ask the author.

I imagine it's a lot more work than interfacing to an XT keyboard would be. XT keyboards may be getting thin on the
ground these days though, especially if you need new ones to ship with a product! :-/
