Lurk Mode: Off

Post by FD22 »

Hi all,

Long-time lurker finally got around to registering, principally as a show of support that this site is valued by a lot of people that might not show in the members list and that seriously missed it when it was vandalised recently and went off-line.

I've been writing 6502 since 1982, and in the last few years have really gotten the bit between my teeth in designing my own SBC. As part of the project, I'm writing the OS as a drop-in replacement for the VIC-20 hardware - the idea is to use that platform as the testbed for the OS design, and once the software is finished and the SBC hardware assembled (a much slower activity due to time and space constraints) I'll transfer it over and tweak the display I/O routines - my design uses a TMS video generator, rather than the 6561.

So a brief introduction of myself, followed by a link to the project blog for anyone who might find it interesting. If anyone has any questions, feel free to blast them at me. :)

Good to hear from you and thanks for the blog link! Some good material there, and I like the writing style. Subscribed...

Roughly speaking it seems accepted that there are 10x as many lurkers as chatters in any given community (so those of us who chat should be aware of the larger audience) - in our case I'm sure a lot of those are pursuing interesting projects or following their own learning curve. It's good when people pop their heads up.

Cheers
Ed
