Let's talk about anything related to the 6502 microprocessor.

Very sad. I checked the page yesterday, and nothing there either to suggest or otherwise.

According to René Meyer they couldn't find a location, so there won't be a VCFB 2025.
The placeholder at https://www.berlin.de/events/5553055-22 ... tival.html also hasn't changed.

While there won't be one in Berlin, seems there will be one in Switzerland. Might be an option for some of you who were considering VCF Berlin this year.

Thanks, but perhaps a bit of a long drive.

It's only 9 hours... that's not very far.
We drove over 12 hours to VCF Midwest just 2 weeks ago. One friend flew in from the UK just to see the show.
And took a multi-day road trip out to VCF Southwest back in '23.
That doesn't even cover the coast-to-coast flights for VCF West I've done a couple times.

Could also take a train, those are actually viable options for transport in Europe I hear. :)

That would be my choice if I were there.  Here in the good, old USA, the closest I’d get to Amtrak would be sitting at a grade crossing waiting for one of their trains to pass.

When I went to Japan, we took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto, it was very nice. Quite, comfortable, no traffic hassle, and right on time.

Last time I rode on Amtrak, the A/C was on the fritz, the cafe car had run out of coffee and we sat for an hour on a passing track due to a freight train derailment.  I probably could have hitch-hiked and gotten there sooner.

Off topic: I've just booked a train from Berlin to Budapest for my wife's birthday in a couple of weeks. That's a twelve hour trip, plus another hour and a half to walk to the bus stop, bus to the tram exchange, tram to Potsdam Hautbahnhof, then train to Berlin. It's the endpoints that add up.

This year I have driven to France (near Mont Blanc) and to Slovenia (Lijak) for paragliding trips; to Scotland (Skye) twice for family emergencies; flown/driven to Skye for a funeral, flown to Turkey for a holiday; taken the train to Prague for a short holiday... It's this retirement thing. I just don't know where the time goes...

That's awfully close to the railway experience in Germany these days, minus the derailment.

Really?  It’s been a long time since I last visited Germany, but I recall from then (a business trip) that the rail service was quite good.  Traveled from Frankfurt to Kassel, stayed in Kassel for several days, and then returned to Frankfurt.  The round trip was pleasant and the trains ran on time.  Couldn’t vouch for the coffee, though.  :D

Travelling by train used to be mostly good, but now there's a lot of problems due to rotting infrastructure. Germany is ruled by the automobile industry after all.
But good to see you did not deprive yourself of the beauty of Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe while in Germany.
