If you have a credit card, even international orders should be possible. For 1MHz and 2MHz parts, Jameco at www.jameco.com is popular. I just stumbled on Debco Electronics' website where the 6522 (probably 1MHz NMOS) is listed at $3.09 U.S. For faster ones (10MHz), use Western Design Center www.westerndesigncenter.com Expect to pay around $5 to $7 (U.S.) per piece in small quantities.
California Micro Devices makes them in mid-range speeds, up to 6MHz I believe; but I don't know where you can get them in small hobbyist quantities. [Edit, 12/22/21: See our sticky topic about 65xx parts sources at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1953 . WDC's current-production parts are all rated for at least 14MHz and will run much higher. Forum member "plasmo" has gotten a W65C02S to run at 40MHz @ 5.3V.]
