Re: Phi2 produces instability

Regarding PH2 clk - I ran into an issue with a test fixture on select Rockwell CPUs. The PH2 clk did not match the data book timing in a few cases. My first attempt at a test fixture many years ago worked for most CPUs but failed rather badly with a few CPUs that had no apparent problems.
Turns out ...

Re: Those darn, skipped over 6532's

As of last spring, WDC was still shipping parts with Sanyo dies for the PDIP parts and that they had not yet moved to TSMC for the PDIPs (W65C816S6PG-14). My latest list from them still shows this.

I assume but am not sure that the PLCC and QFP parts are TSMC with part numbers W65C816S6TPLG-14 and ...

Re: An interesting price for W65C02SXB boards

DMSMS -- "Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages". This is how many manufacturers get news of part changes and obsolescence.
When a manufacturer (e.g. Intel) discontinues a part - they are requested to post Last Time Buy & discontinuation notices as well as any Product Change ...

Re: An interesting price for W65C02SXB boards

Searched the DMSMS records. You're right -- No MAX parts listed. Lots of Arria, Stratix and EPM parts but no MAX.

Re: An interesting price for W65C02SXB boards

There was a DMSMS issued about a month ago for various Intel MAX series FPGAs... I'll have to go see which parts were on it.

Re: Those darn, skipped over 6532's

Based on cost - I am guessing the 65C816 to be about $7.50 each 1-9 and 10% off above that.
I have no idea what Mouser is doing with their pricing. There has been no price increase in these parts in more than a year.

Re: An interesting price for W65C02SXB boards

List pricing for development boards as of June 2021:
W65C02SBX -- $65.02
I thought 65.02 was a pretty clever price. It is now hard to imagine paying $189 for these as they were in the past.
CPU at $6, Two VIAs at $6 each, one PIA at $6 and one ACIA at $5 plus memory, glue logic, pre-assembled and ...

Re: Those darn, skipped over 6532's

Added 65C816's to the list of parts to stock. So far - you are the first to ask for them.

Those darn, skipped over 6532's

Unfortunately, WDC did not pick up the 65C32 RIOTs with it's product line so will be building up a test board soon to test alternatives for the 6532. Haven't yet looked at this indepth yet but considering the possibility of remapping the I/O within 65C22 registers, remapping the internal RAM and ...

6502's and VHDL

Hi,

Has anybody used the T65 VHDL offered by opencores.org?
Does it have the complete 6502 instruction set?
How true to the original instruction cycle count does this core conform?

TIA!
