Hi All
Today (10-Sep-2018) an updated release v1.52 of the r65c02_tc was uploaded to opencores.org repository.
State "RELEASE CANDIDATE" was changed to "READY - PRODUCTION".
Because of the missing feedback since 2014 all work around this core has been canceled.
With Dave's and Ed's very good help ...

Re: cpu65c02_tc release candidate is available on request
Hi Arlet
Thanks for the additional information.
I'm using PLL/DLL blocks in such cases. Using the additional registered data/address lines with doubled clock rate to achieve the max. clocking rate of my system on FPGA.
There are special considerations about clock domain crossing in such cases. Also ...

Re: cpu65c02_tc release candidate is available on request
Hi enso
Ok, it's clear now what you mean. My last answer to you reflects only a part of the situation.
Simple as possible for me:
I only give the fmax of my cores for a specific technology without any attached devices. No more - no less. The rest is a job like a "FAE" (Field Application Engineer ...

Re: cpu65c02_tc release candidate is available on request
You are welcome...
I got the chance to clarify some details and fact around my ideas...;-)
My English is a little bit poor. I hope I can clarify what I meant -> NO RAM:
The cpu core cpu65x02_tc itself uses no ram blocks to increase lock up internal hidden operations like other cores do. This mean ...

Re: 6502-Core Comparisons: Fitting a Xilinx Spartan 2 XC2S20
Hi Tor
And why do you bought this fine board? What of ideas at the beginning do you had?
It is too bad to have a CycloneII in a drawer only, I think too...
What is name of the threat you referenced for?
Cheers
Jens

Re: cpu65c02_tc release candidate is available on request
Hi and thanks for your questions
-Will it work on a Xilinx?
YES - The core is independent of the FPGA vendor.
-When you talk about clock rates, do you use internal FPGA RAM? I've been working with Arlet's core which runs at 105MHz with internal RAM, but with a 10ns SRAM getting 50MHz was a bit ...

Thanks for reply and additional information!
I planned to investigate both main target technologies Xilinx and Altera. The most effort might be to held the collection/comparison up to date.
I also think, that older types of FPGA chips are interesting for most users today. Day by day new users ...

cpu65c02_tc release candidate is available on request
Dear 65x02 fans
I don't want to bother you.
But I inform you that the release candidate of the 65c02 soft core processor cpu65c02_tc is available on request by any user.
Because of the original r65c02 requirements regarding "Unknown op codes as special NOP" there is a performance penalty of -10 ...

Re: 6502-Core Comparisons: Fitting a Xilinx Spartan 2 XC2S20
Hello Ed and Michael
Thanks for valuable and nice feedback.
It might be a heavy job to work on a new cross-reference. There are new 6502 soft core variants around with new capabilities and performance borders.
I found many Spartan3 projects on the web are still active. But found less based on ...
