That's great! Having the support of local people (whether from a makespace or otherwise) is a great thing if you can arrange it.
It definitely is. This project has definitely become MUCH bigger thanks to the many ideas supplied by team members.
I like the sound of the nanoBoot!
Well, the funny ...

The Durango-X 65C02 retro-inspired computer
Hi all,
After so many years of research, and with the help of this group and its superb resources, I managed to design my own fully fledged 65C02 computer! Durango·X pays homage to the home computers of the early eighties (like my ZX Spectrum) but with all the knowledge that we, as a society, have ...

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi.. This is more of a re-re-introduction , as many years have passed since my last post, so I thought it would be more polite to say something here before start posting away...
Anyway, here are a few things about me: I'm from southern Spain, 54, IT Teacher in a Vocational High School. I ...

Re: introducing minimOS
Hi all,
After a long hiatus, I'm back to business again ... I did a little re-introduction by new year's eve, stating that the geeky stuff was packed (due to house overhaul) and thus the hardware plans were temporarily halted... although I have matured the designs in the meanwhile, and hopefully ...

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi all!
This is sort of a re-introduction, since it's been a couple of years since my last post... big changes in my life (for the good, fortunately!) have kept me away from this hobby; however, I'm slowly going back to business. :D
I've been lurking for a while, but I decided to (at least) say ...

Re: My first 6502 computer(s)
Still bravo, so let's get the remaining bugs fixed :-) Thanks a lot!
I don't know if you've got your schematics here, but the VIA has an "undocumented" feature. It needs the address lines and select stable at rising phi2. I learned about this, but I don't think it's the problem here. My ...

Re: My first 6502 computer(s)
Hi all! Sorry for being absent all this time!
Bravo! And the Chihuahua board is nice and tight. Well done. Unfortunately, is not working 100% I know that a million things can go wrong, but what puzzles me is that it almost work... The tried and tested code (playing Smoke on the water thru ...

Re: introducing minimOS
Wow! It's been a long time since my last post... all these summer chores leave little spare time, and I admit not having written a single line of code  Anyway, the wheels inside my head keep turning, and digesting all your interesting contributions.

Hi! I'm back again after being very busy at work...
Wow! This thread has turned into a very interesting discussion! And it's most welcome -- each one has his own set of goals and opinions (all of them respectable, of course) and I think it's always good to listen to everyone's ideas and points of ...

Re: introducing minimOS
While writing an OS is fun in and of itself, serious thought should be given to what it will take to create decent applications for it. Of course! This is barely one half of the road...
In the current state of things, with a rather inmature API, I haven't written a single application so far :oops ...

Re: My first 6502 computer(s)
Nice job. Be careful with those scope probes though. I recommend putting a small wire in the breadboard, and clipping the probes on them, so you don't accidentally bump into the probes and bend the tips. That's what I usually do for the ground connection... then I keep another probe in my hand ...

introducing minimOS
Hi all,
So I finally built my first 6502 computer , and now I need software for it... While I blew some EPROMs with specifically tailored firmware to do some fancy (and sometimes useful !) things, there was a clear need for a common platform for future applications to rely on -- especially since I ...

My first 6502 computer(s)
Hi all,
The idea of making a (6502-based) computer on my own dates back as far as 1986 or so, although it never materialized. Lately it came back and developed into a very ambitious project... but the sensible way was to begin with something much simpler and (hopefully) develop fron that.
So, in ...

Re: Pin compatibility between W65C816S and W65C02S
Forgive me if I'm saying things you already know. There's nothing to forgive... I've been lurking here for a while and I'm aware that your advice (from all of you, that is) is very valuable. Even if you say something I already know, it's always good to have a reminder, and could be very helpful for ...

Re: Pin compatibility between W65C816S and W65C02S
Hi all! I'm back again...
I've noticed some errors in my circuit:
First of all, for each fetched instruction it's decided whether it has full privileges or not -- by latching the state of KERNEL\. Clocking the flip-flop by SYNC alone won't work <snip> While this part of the circuit is OK for the I ...
