DS1813 availability

I haven't looked into whether this is a wider issue or not, but today I had Mouser tell me that they can't supply me any DS1813s as they've been instructed by the supplier to only sell them to business customers. It's not something that came up during the ordering process.
I wondered if it was due to the packaging or tolerance class I'd selected, but they said that the exclusion would apply to all the variants. There was also no suggestion that it was due to quantity restrictions - they were explicit that it was because mine is a private individual account.
Has anybody else had trouble with this, or successfully ordered them recently from Mouser or another supplier?

I hope that doesn't apply to the ds1818 (3.3v) also...
No I haven't got any info but would be bad too, all my boards have it

I had this when I wanted a Meanwell PSU - even though I'm self employed/sole trader they didn't care. I bought it from RS without any hassle in the end.

It'll be delivered faster from RS too.

I use mcp130 instead of DS1813. It is much cheaper, so I should order 100pcs and see if I have problem.

I also just ordered a pack of MCP130s to try on the GameTank. I procrastinated adding auto reset for too long, and have to tell people "hit the red button, and then the yellow one" when they try it at conventions.
Oh well. You know you've become a real OEM when you start selling a dongle to fix a design oversight!

Interesting...I’ve not heard of that. I have a commercial account with Mouser and usually get PCNs about things such as restricted products, etc..

This is concerning because I was planning on using a DS1813 in my current project.
WDC uses a diode, resistor, and capacitor reset circuit on their w65c265 designs. So perhaps that's a more reliable solution?

I was able to add 5 to my cart w/o any issues? Where do you see an indication that they aren't available?

It only came up after submitting the order, they emailed me about it - so you won't know for sure unless you go ahead with the order.

I had something similar a couple of years ago when one item in my order was constantly being cancelled and refunded (without any communication). After emailing Mouser and a bit of back and forth I managed to persuade them that I was just a hobbyist and then they sent me the part.

I bought 10 from DigiKey 5 weeks ago without issue. Maybe give them a try?

If all else fails, you can fashion a reset controller out of a Schmitt inverter and a few other parts (I’m sure Garth will recognize that circuit
). It’s not as elegant or space-efficient as the DS-1813, of course, but it’s a solution.
I talked to my contact at Mouser and she informed me they have plenty of DS1813s I can buy.

(If you're in the UK, I suspect a cheeky request on Stardot will put you in touch with someone who can buy using a business account.)

I just ordered 5 of the DS1813-10's, and they didn't raise a fuss about it at all. :/
