How is your project proceeding? Are you making progress? It's very common for people to take a break, and it's common for projects to take years.

During that time, I was feeling burnt out, so I watched YouTube videos from the Unix Archive to try to regain motivation and the motivation to build my own CPU and OS.

Good idea to take a break.

Often a good idea to switch to a different project, too.

And a great idea to catch up on history of computing!

Agreed. We all get burnt out, unfortunately. I'm just getting back in to it now after a couple of years break.

For me, breaking down the task in to smaller chunks helps get me in to the right frame of mind. Not always, but it helps.

I'm finding as I get older, the hardest part is re-learning what I have done so far. I don't retain it like the 13 year old me did, anymore. :?

So, I'll try using my own 8-bit CPU with a reset interrupt similar to the 6502.I'll try making a simple one with c.
