Hello all,
I am Erwin Soetens (63) ,living in Belgium near a town called Ypres ( important in WW1 ).
In the 80s I had a Acorn Atom later a BBC (6502) and a QL sinclair (68008). With friends I did some hardware and software stuff.
Now I am trying to repair and upgrade those old wrecks.
In stead of a monitor I now use a lcd screen (car rear camera viever)
The Atom has now 32 k ram 0000 7fff, 8 k videoram, on an extern bord I placed a 6850 and 16c552 as uarts, A second screen (serial) oled color.
I am currenly experimenting with an usb controller CH376 but the documentation is hard.
I am not a good writer and Englisch is not my native language.
greetings
Erwin

Welcome, Erwin! -- nice to have you with us
I have not worked with the CH376 usb controller, but other forum members probably have. If you have questions about the documentation, perhaps you should share them here.
Please also feel free to share photos of your 65xx projects! On this forum you can attach images with your posts. There's no need to use a third-party image-hosting site (eg: Imgur). Cheers!

Yes it was. Ypres was the scene of a series of exceptionally bloody World War I battles, especially the Battle of Passchendaele, which resulted in an estimated 800,000 casualties. The town was practically leveled from the constant bombardment.

Your writing is good enough and as for English, we've got plenty of people right here in the USA who are supposedly native speakers but can't string two sentences together to make a coherent thought. Many of them have found gainful employment as politicians.

Welcome, Erwin!
Please, if you can, ignore the political jabs that we sometimes see here. It's only one or two people, it quite spoils the atmosphere, and of course it's divisive and ultimately counterproductive.
I'm sure almost all of us can do a lot better.

It's ok. BDD did not single out any political party or position. Joking about the problems we have to live with can lighten things up.

At least here in the good, ole USA, politicians seem to be almost as universally reviled as they are in the UK, if you can believe what is published at the Daily Mail.
Incidentally, Erwin, we do discourage political and religious posts because, as Ed intimated, they can become strident and inflammatory.

I was trying for a bit of irony...

Yes -- sorry to be unclear; I'm actually with you. I was implying that being a politician is at odds with being gainfully employed.
And the joke seemed harmless enough, as I didn't single out any political party or position. But it is a cheap shot... good for a grin, perhaps, but reducing all members of the profession to the same level is bound to be unfair to some of those individuals, and I am left with mixed feelings about having made the wisecrack.

Fixed that for you! :-)

To me it was pretty clearly a joke.
I think we should also consider, when replying to posts, "Am I interpreting the poster as charitably as reasonably possible, or am I looking to find something offensive in it?"
