6502.org

Hi, Ive gotten my Programmer for Christmas, but I cant find any simple Assmeblers to use, and I cant use the online ones ( my laptop's wifi doesn't work and has to be plugged in the router, dont ask) I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions that could be helpful, also if you could provide instructions or where to get instructions on how to use it properly!

The Kowalski editor/assembler/simulator is a good program for learning how to write 6502 assembly language programs. Download it from here.

Kowalski's seems to be popular and good. (I don't have any experience with it myself though.) I have a list of 65xx assemblers in the "assemblers" portion of my links page, at http://wilsonminesco.com/links.html#assem . Most of them are free. Our own member Andrew Jacobs (forum name BitWise) has what appears to be an excellent macro assembler, As65, with even program-flow-control structures built in, at http://www.obelisk.me.uk/dev65/as65.html .
The 6502 primer has a section called, "Program-Writing: Where Do I Start?" at http://wilsonminesco.com/6502primer/PgmWrite.html, answering a forum post question years ago: "and no one really ever tells you in what program do you put the code." This desktop I'm using has a wired connection too, and no wireless. No problem. Connections always used to be wired. Nothing wrong with it; in fact, I can point you to a lot of studies showing how all this wireless stuff is slowly doing a lot of damage to our health. It does not have to be ionizing to make breaks in DNA strands. Children are much more vulnerable than adults though. Edit: I just remembered to add that our WiFi router also goes down for several minutes at a time many times every day. A watchdog timer brings it back each time, so it's just a minor annoyance.

I do this intentionally. While I do have WIFI for our phones, my "sitting at the TV" laptop, my wife's laptop and visitors, every other device is directly wired including my media devices (Roku's and such) as well as my entertainment/music system, the 3 computers in my lab and even an Apple II. It's just more reliable.

I also use the Kowalski tool.
