Some few years ago we discussed a crowd-funded project to make a 6502 documentary. Although the crowdfunding was successful, unfortunately progress slowed to a stop and the project is now cancelled.

I'd prefer not to get into discussion about the cancellation or the mechanics of crowdfunding in this thread, if we can manage that.

But I would love to share discoveries made in the trove of raw footage which Jason has made available. It's raw, but surely contains much of interest.

For example, there are several short interviews here with Dr. Donald Hanson, the originator of the famous 6502 block diagram, who used the 6502 in his teaching and took the step of visiting MOS, being rewarded with his own copy of the enormous original 6502 schematics.

It might be useful to identify each of the raw footage sets:

Wow, I can see how the project would fall apart just from getting out of control, with dozens (hundreds?) of hours and hundreds of gigabytes! Where to start?! Whatever anyone watches and wants to give us some guidance as to what parts are best to spend a little time on, would be appreciated.

Sorry if I'm missing a previous discussion, but what's the license on these? Would we even have consent to create a documentary?

I'm wondering if this would be something you could approach a tech museum with, if only because they might have suggestions how to even start something like this. It also looks like a nice thesis subject for a historian ...

Good question Scot, fortunately with a clear and useful answer:

One artefact of the documentary process which might hold some interest is the list of possible characters, which includes, for some, a little info on their notability.
