Jeroen Knoester has started a "6502 corner" on his site/blog.

Here he posts about the NEC TurboGrafx-16 - possibly the fastest commercial 6502 machine, discounting addins and expansions.

The machine uses the Hudson Soft 6280, a 6502 variation which we have discussed before. It's got a few extra opcodes and a 'T' mode which allows for memory-memory operations.

The various varieties of this console have one or two graphics chips which have a 16-bit path to memory - probably that's the reason for the -16 - but it hasn't got a 16-bit CPU and the name might have been seen as misleading.
