Help with backlit LCD screen

Hey y'all... I really need some help... my main (laptop) computer system (the one I design and program me 6502 system from) has an LCD screen that still works but the backlight has died rendering the LCD useless. I really need this laptop... I do almost everything on it. Is there a fix? short of buying a new one (just a little strapped for cash
). Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get yourself a laptop hard drive to ide hard drive adaptor (computer shops) and plug the laptops hard drive into a computer. Atleast that will give you access to your files.

Actually... I solved the problem in a different way... though it limits me severly... I simply plugged my laptop into an old VGA monitor and found that even without the lcd screen attached.
