The Jason Scott Documentary Three Pack

Post by ChuckT »

There is a new kickstarter project:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tex ... ?ref=video

Quote:
What are the three documentaries you want to make?

The three documentaries are:

•The 6502, a documentary about the MOS 6502 chip and the art of assembly language programming.
•Tape, a meditation on the medium of tape, its rapid falling out of favor, and the nature of recording our lives and loss.
•Arcade, a video podcast series about the place of arcades, these worlds we enter to have fun with machines.

These links are all to placeholder sites, where the back-end information about interviews, production, found knowledge and the rest are all kept. The first two documentaries have sites full of this sort of thing. The next three would have same.

Excellent! My first question was 'who is Jason Scott' but I remember now - he scanned all those magazines, and did an entertaining talk at Defcon 19 about digital preservation (including the rescue of Geocities and Google Video.)

I see he needs to raise $100k - that's a lot. But the 6502 sub-project has a lot of sponsors! And... he's already at $30k and he's only at day 2 - he's posted a teaser trailer as a reward.

I own his BBS Documentary and Get Lamp movies. They are very good. I have contributed to the 6502 project and hope he can complete that one.
