6510: I'm looking for usable c64 schematics (DIEs / cores)

hello,

I'm not quite sure where to begin, but it certainly would be nice to have schematics of all the DIEs (6510, sid & vicII) - yes, they all have been synthesised for fpgas, but I'd need them for an other reason...

my questions are:
1. which software do the big player use to design & fabric (their) cpus?
(eagle is quite good - but I doubt they use it in the fabs)

2. where can I find schematics of all c64 die/cores (6510, sid & vicII) for that cpu-design-software?
I almost found some dies / cores here:
http://impulzus.sch.bme.hu/6502/6502/6502_layout.php3
http://visible6502.org (I'm tired, what was the url again?)
is there a complete download-list somewhere?

please NO PHILOSOPHY here (my time is running out) - please answer the questions or simply do not post.

I only heard they hand drew some of the original chips. I only started seeing CAD software on the TRS-80 back in those days.

I think Jeri Ellseworth posted a picture of the inwards of the 6502 some time ago.

Some manufacturers of microcontrollers use Laker but the license is something like $40K and the program has its limits.

The schematic for the C-64 is in the Programmer's Refernce Guide (the main board and not the chips).

I downloaded the datasheet for the Sid chip off of Hackaday some time ago but there may be some datasheets here.

1. integrated circuit design software (industry standart)
1.1 which software is used to (re)design CPUs ?
1.2 who is experienced in translating cpu-pictures / schematics into this kind of software:
* http://www.cadence.com/products/pages/default.aspx
(what else is used by the cpu-industry?)

2. circuit designs of the 6510 / vic-II / sid
CPU 6502
* http://visual6502.org/images/6502/index.html
(ARE THERE ANY PICTURES / INTEGRATED CIRCUITS OF THE 6510? )

SID 8580
* http://visual6502.org/images/pages/Comm ... 0_SID.html
(ARE THERE ANY PICTURES / INTEGRATED CIRCUITS OF THE SID 6581 ?

VIC-II
(ARE THERE ANY PICTURES / INTEGRATED CIRCUITS OF THE VIC-II 6569/8565/8566 ?

3. after (re)design: where can one produce/fabric these cpus ?
who does fabricate physical microcontroller / cpus?

You might want to contact Beau Schwabe, IC Layout Engineer over at Parallax.com but not in this thread:

http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.p ... ight=laker

You might be able to get some advice but not specific advice if you do receive an answer.

thanks - I send him a private message through the prallax-forum...

which sid?
the older 6581 or the newer 8580?
i'm interested in the older one...

There was something I read about the masks. Even though the masks had mistakes in them, they would still work.

I don't think he/she will have information on the C-64 chips. He will just have information on the industry and may be able to give you some leads because most of us don't have the money to just go out and do what you want to do.
