Wait, just how OLD are you guys?
I've just been instructed by SWMBO to bake a cake, so apparently today I am $41.
Neil
p.s. not _how_ to bake, I already know that.
Baking a cake isn’t hard.
Baking a cake that others are willing to eat...hmm...
I recall my first effort to bake a cake. Seemed easy at the time...until my wife took a bite and gave me a look that said, “This tastes like turpentine mixed with hog droppings.” I made the mistake of not sampling it before offering her a slice.

Still working on the basic OS as well as the user console.
I must have written more 6502 code in the last few days than I ever did in my C64 years!
Also added a few rotary encoders, a cursor pad, and some analog mixing dials to the front for the user interface.
I thought I was done making any hardware changes, but then a fan reached out and donated two of these to the project...
Two new 660 watt speakers that just happen to be exactly the right height and size to become the two support pillars!
Originally, the pillars were going to be floppy disk drawers, but they always seemed a bit oversized for that purpose.
I was also tight on space for all of the analog effects controls. Since I am using the new mixer design, I can go all out on one effects chain.
So this acquisition solves all the issues, freeing up the large triangular front segments for effects controls and dual analog VU meters.
The pillars now become towers of sonic power, 1200 watts of pure thumping bass!
Yeah, I will need a few boxes to hold all the sound file floppies, now but I can deal with it.
Working on the 3D model once more to mod the pillar frame for the new speakers.
Still planning to have the wood sides, but now the front will become the speaker grill.

I see Hackaday just featured a recumbent bike made by Brad:

Hey, thanks for the plug!
Funny, I was just looking at a design I did for a 30-foot-tall bike a few years back to outdo my old record.
It would be based on this over engineered one I made 15 years ago that allows climbing while in motion...

Being 10 years older than the first 6502 now though.... maybe I will stick to saner adventures!
I recently renamed AtomicZombie to
https://chopzone.com/ as I can't afford to fight the trademark every year now.
Ps...
Your works have always brought me back here during the last few years when I was too busy to work on my own projects.
Cheers,
Brad
BTW, if you guys haven’t already done so, be sure to visit Brad’s “Atomic Zombie” website to see some of the cool-looking, home-built bicycles he and his wife have designed. I was especially intrigued by the “Skycycle,” which puts the rider at telephone-pole height, and got Brad listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

I just wanted to officially say thanks to the great folks on this forum for so many creative ideas and for keeping it alive.
This thread is officially closed now as I am moving to a new life that will not have a lab, shop, or any of my old works.
I am also shutting down all of my websites and basically reformatting my entire life.
All of my retro gear is now up for sale for a stupid low price as I am also moving to a downsized place with mush less room.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 865506779/
It has been a fun ride doing electronics and build mechanical things, but my new life will not include either.
I will be fully focused on content creation for some new ventures and have traded my other tools for local AI power stations.
So just wanted to stop by, say thanks before I sail off to a new world in 2026.
Cheers to all!
Brad
