(*) "Coger" means to take/grab something in Spain. In many South America countries "coger" also means having sex with someone. Imagine how carefully you have to use the word.
And how it's spelt: Codger in the UK generally means "grumpy old man" (although these days, possibly grumpy old person might be more appropriate).

And FWIW: I'll re-say what I said originally; Based on having written a 32-bit bytecode/VM for another language on the '816 then I think it's feasible to do a MicroPython implementation.

Actually, given you can run Linux on an 8-bit Atmel microcontroller(**) then hell, yes ... ;-)

Now, I am pretty sure that you did not mean to offend at all. But words are powerful in the way they alter our mental states and actions. I've been trying to figure out exactly why I feel so irritated with this thread - I don't even hate Python that much... It is a good practice to choose words carefully - and I am certainly learning that lesson myself every day.

Best wishes
There are quite a few members for whom English is a second or third language, and I always try to give them a lot of leeway, in light of the many nuances and irregular snares of its written form. I must confess that floobydust and drogon make my right eye twitch every time they misspell the word "its", but I know I probably have that effect on others with my own quirks. I come here to relax and study little puzzles ... this place simply makes my brain feel good, and I always come and go with a smile and a feeling of camaraderie and goodwill, just like in my profile pic.

Back to your regularly scheduled program. And Long Live 6502.org!!
Hey, careful now... I resemble that remark!. Seriously, I do know the difference (its vs it's), but schooling back in the 60's always plays havoc with the brain... the fingers just naturally add the apostrophe... as back in the day, the general rule (of which there are endless exceptions) was to add the " 's " to anything to show ownership. Then again, that was in New Jersey, so you can't truly hold it against me. One last thing....

and now back to our regularly scheduled program... it's the least I can do...

I wasn't going to respond, but I am surprised at which direction this thread took, so in light I just want to respond that the title is correct in what it is referring to. It all comes down to the punctuation.

A colon was used which means that the meaning of the title belongs to the inferred subject of the title. In this case, the subject was eventually an programming language. Me, being Canadian, I took the meaning of "old timers" to belong to older languages and not a description of people that have been around for a long time.

Now if it was punctuated this way "Enough of Old Timers! What about Micro-Python?", I would have taken that to mean, Why hasn't some old-timer programmed Micro-Python to work on a 6502 platform yet".

But use of the colon should not be getting the bad wrap this thread has turned in to.

By the way, a Canadian two-cent piece is worth less than an U.S. two-cent piece, so what do I know.
