Condolences to all, sad to hear it. He did seem confident.
That's the problem with the internet, we're so close to each other, yet so far, even when we live right next door.
Better to get out and have coffee once in a while.

When I think of 6502.org and pinball, I will always think of Nightmaretony. He started to get into CPLDs too... I will always remember him.

The inevitable will get to all of us in time, it's best we make good use of that time.

As I'm probably Tony's only fb friend who's on the 6502.org forum, I have been asked to relay the group's collective regards and condolences to the family. We definitely enjoyed his being with us. He joined 6/27/03, and posted 619 times. It was fun to see him grow in the hobby.

I am very sad to report the news Nightmaretony's brother just posted to facebook on his fb accout:
I just wanted to let my brother's friends know that Tony died peacefully in his sleep on november 4 at 1041 pm. services will be announced- will be at rose hills in whittier, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the american cancer society in his name for kidney cancer- thank you
Oh no! 
I was thinking it had been awhile since he posted about his 6502 projects, but he appeared to be recovering the last time I saw him, so it's a shocker that he would be gone already. I was thinking I ought to go out to his place 75 miles away and see him, but I failed. What a sense of failure! I'm going to be hard on myself for that.
Tony's last visit here was October 24 and his last post was in August, which made no mention of his condition. There's no way any of us could have known that he was in such dire straits. Earlier messages seemed to suggest that he was going to make it okay.
Please don't kick yourself over it. It'll be bad enough just knowing that he's no longer with us.

So sorry to hear of Tony's passing. I used to enjoy his humorous posts. My condolences to his family and friends.

This is such sad news. My condolences.
As Garth mentioned, Tony has been active on the forum since 2003. He also contributed to the website by submitting his source code and finding broken links. I'll miss hearing about his pinball projects.

Ouch, this is truly sad.
Tony helped me with my 65c134 based board a few years back and I remember being surprised by the level of commitment from him.
As Paolo said, this is turning out to be a bad year.......

Thanks for doing this, Garth. My only suggestion is to maybe clarify what 6502.org is -- the forum itself, and the camaraderie and exchange of ideas we have here.
