I have an Emma 11 but it has no monitor chip in the socket
i have an eprom programmer and a blank 2716 but no code
to put on it

I recently obtained an EMMA II board and, like other owners, am dying for documentation. The only potential leads I've located are :

1 - store.lathes.co.uk seems to be selling the Experiment Manual and the Technical Manual for 55 pounds each - pricey for sure.
2 - a lab manager at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL - Steve Muren - may be the one who used to host the copy of the User Manual that is floating around.

Someone here mentioned that they were working on a disassembly of the monitor ROM - that would be a great place to start. Also another poster began a schematic of the board, at least of the address decoding section - would be nice if that were available.

What I would love right now would be a way to serially connect to the board for uploads and downloads.

OK, I've located and obtained a scan of the EMMA II Technical Manual. I emailed the POC here to see if the document can be stored at 6502.org and am awaiting a reply. The document is 112 pages plus cover and contents and is large at 50MB. I am sure folks will be interested in this document, for sure.

Also, I have not located a detailed schematic for the board (the technical manual has sheets 1 and 3 of the schematic and a low resolution image of the address decoding circuit) so if anyone ever locates a complete set, I'd appreciate that if it were shared. Also, I have the addon/external Memory Expansion Module and would like technical data on it - it has room to add 6116 RAM chips and 2716 EPROMs, plus it has an on-board EPROM programmer with an EPROM that seems to be dedicated to programming EPROMS. I can get the program to start and it lets me enter a start and end address for data to be programmed into the EPROM but I can't seem to get it to do anything.

I also was able to dump the code from both EPROMS (SE 116/A, D8-DD, FE-FF on the EMMA II board and SE 118/A. 90-97 on the Mem Exp Module). I can provide binary or hex dumps from both EPROMS. Disassembling code from the Mem Exp Module EPROM will be a task, but should help in figuring out how to use the programmer.

I'm a newbie here, found this site and topic whilst on a 6502 nostalgia trip. Used to use the Emma II between 1993-1995 when I was at college here in the UK. 22 years later, I still have the boards and a stack of manuals.
