Keep busy and get well guys.
The inevitable will get to all of us in time, it's best we make good use of that time.

Well there you go. I was born in Bray, just south of Dublin. It may be a small world, but the Irish have made it a neighborhood.

Got both biopsies, the kidney is primary, lung is secondary. Will find out for next week. And accidently got to call our greatest idol of all time, so me happy.
Am still 100% confident this will end up ok. It will suck along the way, but that be ok....

Wish you the best. You're right - it can be beat. My uncle is walking around at great speed with various chunks missing (and it needn't come to that, I dare say)
Cheers

Back again. Right kidney removed monday, at my parent's house right now to live here for a bit during the rest of treatment. (chemo or something for the lungs). Brought my Apatco and got in my prototypes of the Pinball Mind motherboard. Unhappy with the silkscreen since the graphic portion of the silkscreen has some major issues I am unhappy about.
Otherwise, still chugging along.

Are you eligible for a replacement kidney? I know you can function on one, but what if that one starts having trouble?
Hoping for your speedy and uneventful recovery.

It should do ok. Functions are unimpaired and many do live with a single kidney. I dont drink alcohol or do drugs so it isnt even a lifestyle change for me at all.

Heh, funny, but a 'truth' I heard is a doc actually recommended beer to a patient with gallstones as gallstones are calcium deposits, and small amounts of alcohol break these deposits up. Key word 'small'. And such a relative term.

These were biggies. The kidney was 25 to 30% larger, 3 huge tumors inside. Took some work getting it out.
On the plus side, very little coughing now so I figured it was pushing up into the lungs. Instant asthma cure!

I am very sad to report the news Nightmaretony's brother just posted to facebook on his fb accout:
I just wanted to let my brother's friends know that Tony died peacefully in his sleep on november 4 at 1041 pm. services will be announced- will be at rose hills in whittier, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the american cancer society in his name for kidney cancer- thank you
then another of his friends posted,
I talked got off the phone with Tony's Dad.. They are planning it for this Saturday
I was thinking it had been awhile since he posted about his 6502 projects, but he appeared to be recovering the last time I saw him, so it's a shocker that he would be gone already. I was thinking I ought to go out to his place 75 miles away and see him, but I failed. What a sense of failure! I'm going to be hard on myself for that.
