RIOTs be fairly hard to get. 65C22 VIAs are much more common to get these days

You can get a 6532 RIOT easily and cheaply by buying an old ATARI 2600 VCS on ebay & unplugging the RIOT chip. I know there are some who see this as sacralige but it is certainally the easiest way to get one. They usually have an Atari part number on them instead of 6532 but it is the same chip.

Where can I get a Hex keyboard? I have looked everywhere. I guess I could buy a 16 button pad and label the buttons myself but I would rather have a hex keypad.

Futurlec sells socalled tactile switches with buttons. The TACT006 can be equiped with a button, the seethrough plastic cap can be taken off and a legend on paper added.
$0.67 total per button. Perfect to make you own keyboard with the layout you want and the legends can be as good as your printer can produce.

Neat! Who makes them? I'd like to see a little more info. A search for TACT006 only turned up Futurlec's website, but I'm sure someone else makes them and this is just Futurlec's number.
