A really random question...

Does anyone know what these little gold edge connectors are called? Or better yet if there is a KiCad footprint for them?



I really like them because they can be soldered surface-mount or with pin-headers.



I'm totally stealing this design from the Raspberry Pico for my own projects.

These are called castellated holes. I don't believe that design (with both the pin header hole and the soldering hole) is available in KiCad but it should be pretty easy to make. Just put a hole centered on your edge cut. Here is an example using a pin header footprint (of course the silkscreen needs to be changed etc)

But seriously, YOU NEED TO VISIT THEIR WEBSITE. IT'S THE BEST WEBSITE IN THE WORLD! Well, not really. In fact I've got no idea how they get business. And also, given the area, it's 50/50 whether I'll get a PCB or end up becoming an impromptu organ donor. Still, they're cheap and make excellent PCBs.
