There are several clones of the KIM-1 made the last years.

- Ruud Baltissen started the design of replacing the 6530 with a 6532.
- Vince Briel made the Micro-KIM system(not available anymore).
- Bob Applegate did the Corsham KIM Clone and some fine boards connected, still available
- Dave Williams made the MOS KIM-1 Reproduction, with the look and feel of the KIM-1, sometimes kits or assembled available on ebay
- Liu Ganning is selling the PAL-1 and a nice collection of add-on boards as kits on Tindie, still available

I keep a log of what is happening in the 6502 retro world, especially the KIM-1 and clones and other small 65xx SBC's at http://retro.hansotten.nl/

Recent topics:
- KIM-1 diagnostic board by Dwight Elvey reconstructed
- Microsoft Basic for the KIM-1 KB-6 and KB-9
- Elektor 6502 clock
- Microchess and MICRO-ADE for the KIM-1 source reconstructed
- a beta KIM-1 Simulator, to aid in testing and develop software for the KIM-1
- Robert Leedom games for the KIM-1 typed in again
- a beta Pascal compiler for the KIM-1 I am working on since 1978, that is really retro!

Actually, please do omit my KK Computer from this list. The original name, Kim Klone, is misleading because the machine is not a clone of the familiar KIM-1. I stopped calling it Kim Klone when it became apparent people were getting the wrong idea.

The KK Computer refines extended memory techniques which I first explored on my drastically modified KIM-1. But compared to an umodified KIM-1 there's nothing in common.

(Except for the fact they're both retro! :) The KK Computer was built in 1988).

The computer isn't the only thing that's retro. :D

Hi,

I am a retro enthusiast (built my own 8080A system in 1982), recently getting into 6502.

I see mention in your post and on your website of a Kim-1 clone made by Dave Williams, that looks very interesting.

I have scoured the internet and cannot seem to find how to purchase the kit.

Do you have any tips?

Thanks,
Brad
