On my last project, I just used a simple slider switch for power. Which works well but on my new project, I would like something a little better.

I've been a fan of the rocker switches used on the Commodore 64 and VIC-20. IIRC, those use two voltages.

I've been searching Mouser for a while and think I found one I like:

E101J1V5BE2

One glaring observation is that it's really expensive! Well, for me anyway. I suppose I could probably find something cheaper on eBay.

So my questions are, what do you guys recommend? Have you seen something similar but cheaper?

I don't mind paying a little more for a good part. I was just hoping to find something cheaper if I can.

Thanks!

I went with https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Mountain-Switch/10TC605?qs=MefMhNUBeRgKkRdFCES7RA%3D%3D for the last build that needed a switch on the board.

For the odd cased board, I have some https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/E-Switch/RA1113112R?qs=%2Fha2pyFaduis2gH1eQVji0E2gCBzpFHnXzwFVe1%2Fgmxxsxytiuimzg%3D%3D.

I figured for home builds, a massive number of switching cycles wasn't important. So I went for the less expensive options. The small footprint of the toggle switch and the standard cut-out for the rocker being the deciding factors.

I've been using this one on my builds for years:

They work perfectly... however, they came up on the NRND list, so I switched (pun intended) to this one... same PCB layout.

There's basically no difference between them and they have a nice positive feel.
