All,
I have been away from the 6502 and machine language for many years, but have recently been trying to get a few old computers working again.
I have a question about machine language and conversion -

I have a file that is a straight dump of a system monitor ROM. I want to take that file and convert it into something more meaningful ... like assembly language.

Is there any utility/program, or exactly WHAT do I do to convert the machine language?

In advance I thank you for any suggestions.

What you are looking for is called a "disassembler." I seem to recall several open-source 6502 disassemblers out there of varying capability. However, no disassembler will be able to reproduce assemblable source code, but it could produce the listings you need to help in your understanding of the ROM.

An old dissembler would be Sourceror on the Apple 2 which was a part of Merlin.
