That would be fun for sure.
The intersting thing is that even the Vulcan-74 board fully running only required 300mA to operate!
I was actually running it right off the +5V on the VIC-20 Cart port.
I have a large box full of brand new LM323 VRegs as well (VIC-20 style) , so I might as well use them.
No doubt, that beefy 3 amp monster will stay 100% cool since JetPack is 100% CMOS tech.

Back in the day efficient switch mode PSUs were possible, just not common due to cost.
